Lloyds raises 50 ‘tenners’ at Tenors Un Limited Junior Achievement concert

by isleofman.com 6th August 2014

The Lloyds Banking Group has presented a cheque for ?500 to Junior Achievement. The money was raised after Caroline Harrison, manager at Lloyds Bank Contact Centre, volunteered to collect donations for the Manx charity at a Tenors Un Limited fundraising concert in May and the group applied its matched giving scheme.

Mrs Harrison said: ‘Lloyds Bank colleagues are pleased to offer volunteer support to Junior Achievement throughout the year. As one of the Island’s leading finance sector employers we applaud the charity’s work in preparing young people with numeracy and a whole range of other life skills for when they enter the jobs market.

‘Junior Achievement is well known for arranging crowd-pleasing events and the Tenors Un Limited concert was no exception. It was a pleasure to be able to combine fundraising with sharing in a great evening’s entertainment.’

Junior Achievement’s corporate and community fundraiser Sally Drinkwater said: ‘We’re very grateful to Caroline and to the Lloyds Banking Group, not only for their generous donation but also for their volunteer support. Fundraising events such as this Tenors Un Limited concert, which raised ?5,400, are crucial for us and help us continue our work to reach some 5000 students in full-time education in the Isle of Man, for which we need to raise ?300,000 every year.

‘Just like Tenors Un Limited Junior Achievement knows how to put on a good show and we have an exciting programme planned for the coming months.’
