Gaza aid donation 'not a political move'

Donating ?50,000 to humanitarian aid in Gaza does not align the Island politically.
That’s the view of Phil Gawne, chairman of the International Development Committee of the Council of Ministers which has made the donation.
Monies are being split between Human Appeal International and HelpAge International, to supply food packs, medical kits, medicines and emergency healthcare and shelter.
In a separate move, street collections are being held in the Island this weekend for the UK Disasters Emergency Committee humanitarian aid appeal for Gaza.
Violent conflict between Israel and Hamas has left people in the region in desperate need of basic necessities.
Mr Gawne says the Manx government's aid contribution does not signify any political stance on the conflict:
