The 17 year old boy killed in a car crash in the early hours of Sunday morning has been named as Brad Campbell, who lived with his mum, dad and brother in the Onchan area.

Brad died after a one car incident on the Foxdale Road near its junction with Archallagan plantation. He was one of three passengers.

Inspector Derek Flint said: 'At this time, the driver has been released from hospital into police custody, and he has now been released on police bail whilst enquiries progress. The other two passengers remain in hospital, and one is still in the Intensive Treatment Unit.'

The road was closed for most of yesterday while police examined the scene. An appeal has been made for a taxi driver to come forward.

Inspector Flint said: 'Our inquiries so far have raised a couple of specific matters where we are looking for the public to help. We believe there may have been a car travelling along that road from Braaid to Foxdale around the time of the collision and would like the driver to contact us.

'Additionally, we are trying to trace a taxi driver who appears to have arrived shortly after the collision and may have tried to help. We’d really like to speak to him also, and would appreciate him giving us a call here at headquarters on 631212.'
