LGBT group urges members to give views on draft equality bill

by isleofman.com 1st September 2014
The Island's Rainbow Association is urging its members to have their say on the draft Equality Bill.
A public consultation is currently under way on proposals to prohibit discrimination in a range of areas, from sex, race and age to sexual orientation and religion.
New laws, if agreed, will cover employment and provision of goods and services.
The draft bill covers a much wider range of characteristics than the Disability Discrimination Act, which it replaces.
The Rainbow Association's Lee Vorster says when equality legislation is in place, minorities in the workplace will have a key role to play in changing attitudes: Clip 1
