Let Your Inner Rock Soul out with Roc Vannin Choir!

by isleofman.com 8th September 2014

Local rock choir, Roc Vannin will host an open evening tomorrow as part of their current initiatives to acquire new members for the group.

The open evening will be held at Tower House, Douglas on Tuesday 9th September at 7pm and welcomes anyone over the age of 18 who enjoys singing with other like-minded individuals, to come and meet the choir over a drink and to hear some of their current songs.

A spokesperson for the choir said: “Roc Vannin performs at a number of events across the Island each year. Recent events include the Royal Agricultural Show, the Bushy’s Tent, Douglas Carnival and the Race for Life. It also offers a great social side in which many members have made great friends. We are currently looking for new members of all vocal ranges and invite anyone with interest in joining to come to the open evening to see what we are all about.”

Roc Vannin was established by its members in 2013 when they wanted a choir that let them focus on the music they enjoyed rather than traditional choral favourites. Directed by Donna Teare, the choir has a repertoire of modern rock songs including artists like Adele, Kings of Leon and Queen.

If you are unable to make the evening but are interested to find out more please contact 419897 or email rocvannin@gmail.com.
