Manannan delayed in Liverpool due to medical emergency

by isleofman.com 8th September 2014

Isle of Man Steam Packet Company vessel Manannan was delayed leaving Liverpool for today’s scheduled 11:15 sailing due to a medical emergency.

A passenger was taken ill shortly before the vessel arrived in Liverpool and arrangements were made for Manannan to be met by medics so the passenger could be treated and taken to hospital by ambulance.

This caused a slight delay to loading Manannan ahead of her return to Douglas, resulting in the vessel departing 15 minutes behind schedule.

Steam Packet Company Chief Executive Mark Woodward said: ‘I would like to apologise to anyone inconvenienced by this short delay, but passenger welfare is our main priority. Our thoughts are with the affected passenger and family at this time.’
