A veritable feast of music to dance, clap and sing to came to the Villa Marina recently and what an extraordinary show it was.
Manx Dancing in the Streets hit the Island with an absolute blast of fantastic music. The show opened with “Get Ready” sung by Lewis Kelly and “The Temptations” - Joe Hillard, Jack Divers, Damian Kneale and Liam Kaneen. This definitely got the show off to a running start!
Over the next four hours the Island’s hugely talented singers and dancers, ably compered Gary Chatel, sung their hearts out to entertain a near capacity audience at the Villa Marina.
The now infamous, David Castro, fresh from his stage success of The Full Monty, singing “Do You Love Me” was thoroughly entertaining!
There was so many highlight there isn’t space to mention everyone but my personal favourites were Ebonie Tate, Joey Wylde and the Stage One singers and dancers with their performance of the Jackson 5 song “I’ll be There” along with Joey Wylde, David Cowley, Jack Divers and Lewis Kelly as “Boys To Men” singing End of the Road. The beautiful Endless Love by Kate Cowley and Neil King was also breath-takingly beautiful.
The costumes, make-up and sleekness of the songs and performances were very much a testament to the organisers Colette Wylde and Michelle McCauley and all the cast and crew.
The event was supported by PokerStars through its Helping Hands programme. The money raised for Hospice is still be counted but it is hoped over ?8,000 will have been raised.
Colette thanked everyone for all their hard work, the support of PokerStars through their Helping Hands programme and all the cast and crew for their tireless commitment. She added: “It was a great night, we were delighted with the show and very much appreciate everyone getting involved.” “I am also delighted that we have managed to raise this wonderful amount for a truly deserving local charity.” “Plans are in hand for next year’s event which will be called the Ultimate Christmas Party which will be a mixture of all the Christmas party cheese like “YMCA”, “Come on Eileen” along with the magic of Christmas with “White Christmas” etc! This event will raise funds again for Hospice Isle of Man and Manx Decaf – a local dementia charity.”
I would also like to thank Steve Babb for taking such wonderful photographs and all raffle prize donors which included SMP Partners, Isle of Man Steam Packet, The New You, The Laser Room and Hot Gossip Hair Salon.
