New building regulations good for environment

by isleofman.com 11th September 2014
New legislation aimed at improving the energy efficiency of buildings in the Isle of Man will come into operation at the beginning of next month.
The Building Regulations 2014, approved by Tynwald earlier this year, focus on the energy efficiency and performance of new and existing buildings.
They cover issues such as ventilation, combustion appliances and water efficiency, as well as crime detection and prevention.
A core aim of the changes is to reduce the impact new buildings have on the environment.
Managing Director of Hartford Homes James Greenhalgh says the new regulations bring the Island up to date with the UK, and the company fully supportive of the moves: (play audio)
