Drivers warned over cycling proficiency

by isleofman.com 15th September 2014
Motorists are being urged to drive carefully around Island schools this week as hundreds of children begin their cycle proficiency training.

Thirteen separate courses designed to teach youngsters cycle safety skills they'll keep for life, are planned for the autumn term.

Some Year 5 and 6 pupils will ride their bikes to and from school - and the message to drivers is slow down, give them space and expect the unexpected.

Neighbourhood policing teams commander Inspector Darrill Pearson is urging drivers not to ignore the safety messages: Clip 1
