by isleofman.com 18th September 2014
A high spot of the Manx countryside in the autumn takes place this evening (Thurs 18th Sept)
The 21st Cronk y Voddy Ploughing Society Produce show and big spud weigh in takes place at Ballakaighen Farm in Cronk y Voddy.
There are classes for vegetables, fruit and flowers as well as jams and pickles, to say nothing of cakes, eggs and even photography.
Children have their own events and in these days of sexual equality, there's a even a class for the best Victoria sandwich made by a man - not forgetting the all important big spud competition.
A demonstration of old country skills such as lanket making will take place from 7pm . . . followed by an auction of the produce at 8pm
Admission is free and proceeds from the evening go to the Manx Stroke Foundation.
