Peel residents to have their say over housing

by isleofman.com 22nd September 2014
Peel residents will have their say tonight (Monday) over plans to build 144 new homes in the town.
Dandara has received approval to develop on a site between Poortown Road and QEII High School, east of Reayrt Ny Cronk.
The area is zoned for housing and the developer says if given the green light, the scheme will create 150 jobs.
However, Peel Commissioners have lodged an appeal, while a number of residents have raised concerns about sewerage, what they call inadequate road provision, parking and a lack of open space, should it go ahead.
They also question whether it would be a sustainable development for the west of the Island.
The meeting, at the Corrin Hall, starts at 7.30pm.
