Big Debate 'alternative' to be encouraged

by isleofman.com 22nd September 2014
The Policy and Reform minister says he welcomes a Big Debate alternative which has been set up by another MHK.
Chris Robertshaw was speaking about Isle of Man 2020, the brainchild of West Douglas member Chris Thomas.
The Big Debate's first meetings take place from next month, in front of audiences invited from the electoral roll at random.
They will discuss three main topics; how to make government smaller and smarter, how it can respond better to the community's needs and what's described as the modernisation of the welfare state.
Mr Thomas has told Manx Radio he decided Isle of Man 2020 was needed to make sure everyone got the chance to speak.
Mr Robertshaw thinks that's a positive thing:Clip 1
