Legal aid review 'important and overdue'

by isleofman.com 22nd September 2014
The review of the Isle of Man's legal aid system is important and overdue.
That's according to Andrew Swithenbank, the chair of the independent committee that's been tasked to make sure legal aid is fit for purpose.
Mr Swithenbank describes it as a "human right" which is used by hundreds of people on the Island.
A consultation has been launched on Monday and the public has until the end of November to make any comments.
The committee anticipates it will report on its findings next April.
Mr Swithenbank says they want to hear from people on both sides of the system.Clip 1
