by isleofman.com 23rd September 2014

JAC Stores have announced that they are opening their largest store yet, right in the heart of the main shopping area of Douglas.

The well-known Manx company, started 33 years ago and has progressively grown, offering stores in Ramsey and Castletown as well as their existing JAC Stores on Castle Street in Douglas. Three generations of the Blatcher family work in the business today, along with over 30 local employees. The new venture will offer further employment opportunities too, which is great news for the local economy.

John Blatcher said “Moving the two smaller units of Homestores on Strand Street and Toymaster in Duke Street to a more central shopping location gives an opportunity to increase our ranges, along with providing a more pleasant shopping environment for our customers.”

“New ranges within Home Hardware will include Tools, Home Brew, Heating, Microwaves and a much larger range of general Home Essentials, Appliances, Paint, DIY, Gardening and Tableware,” added Chris, “We aim to provide a one-stop shop, grown on our passion for offering the best in customer service, at prices that often beat UK multinationals.”

The business works closely with Toymaster and Home Hardware, both groups of independent retailers who join together for the benefit of each other. The Home Hardware connection gives access to over 18,000 quality, stocked products across a broad range of top brands.

Chris Blatcher said, “We are looking forward to welcoming customers to our new store on Strand Street, over a 3 day grand opening event. You’ll find us next to Waterstones.”

To celebrate, from the 3rd to the 5th October customers will enjoy exclusive deals and prize giveaways. All customers who make a purchase of Household items in the new store over the 3 days will have the  chance to win a Kitchenaid Food Processor worth ?399.

There will also be some special character appearances and prize giveaways for the children too!
