Mental health service receives excellent re-accreditation

by isleofman.com 24th September 2014
The Island’s inpatient mental health service has been re-accredited as ‘excellent’ by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
The Accreditation for Inpatient Mental Health Services or AIMS scheme assesses inpatient mental health service units with the aim of improving the quality of care.
As part of the on-going accreditation process, the two year review of Grianagh court consisted of questionnaires for staff, patients and carers as well as audits of Mental Health Service patient care records and staff training records.
It first achieved accreditation in October 2008 and was one of only 10% of applicants to be accredited at a first attempt.
Inpatient and Day Treatment Manager at Grianagh Court, Dee Notman, says the excellent re-accreditation rating reflects the hard work and dedication of the team there.
