Big Debate - invitations arrive

by isleofman.com 24th September 2014

Personal invitations to Isle of Man residents to join in Chris Robertshaw's 'Big Debate' have started dropping through letterboxes.

A random sample of the population has been selected from the electoral register, with people being invited to one of four meetings around the island.

The first is at Peel Centenary Centre on October 2, followed by meetings in Ramsey on October 7, Port Erin on October 15 and Douglas on November 4.

In the letter, Policy and Reform Minister Chris Robertshaw writes: 'I would urge you to take part in this event. It's vital that everyone has a say in how we address some of the big challenges to ensure we have a sustainable future for our Island.'

The meetings are being hosted by Mr Robertshaw and Treasury Minister Eddie Teare, with the aim of setting out the challenges the Isle of Man is facing and inviting the audience's views.
