An increase in the minimum wage comes into effect next week.
The changes were approved by Tynwald in July following recommendations by the minimum wage committee. From October 1, the hourly rate will increase by 25p per hour, or 3.9 per cent, to ?6.65 for workers aged 21 and over.
A new age bracket is also being introduced for 18 to 20 year olds. The hourly rate for these workers will be ?6.40. Seventeen year olds get a minimum wage of ?5.24 and the rate is ?4.67 for 16 year olds.
