Paving problems for DoI

by isleofman.com 28th September 2014
The Department of Infrastructure has applied for retrospective permission to replace pavements on Walpole Avenue in Douglas with tarmac.

The street, which is in the capital’s conservation area, was due to have high-quality paving stones laid to match work on Douglas Promenade.

But because of hidden underground features outside Pizza Hut and Uptopia hairdressers, it’s not been possible to lay the granite stones.

The Department says that’s forced it to use bitmac footways instead – but it now needs planning permission for them.

The planning application will be decided by the Council of Ministers, and you can find more details on the government’s website gov.im
