In the early hours of Sunday 28th September 2014 the Police and ambulance were called to an incident on East Quay, Ramsey - at its junction with Old Post Office Lane.
A 34 year old man, who is resident in the town, had suffered head injuries, and was taken to Nobles Hospital. A 19 year old man (also resident in the town) was arrested at the scene by Northern NPT officers.
The injured party was subsequently released after treatment in A&E, and was also arrested.
Later that day a 20 year old man from the south of the Island was arrested in connection with this event.
As enquiries have progressed it became apparent that this incident was sparked by a row between the two men that were first arrested, and which subsequently escalated.
It was also found that a vehicle that had been parked on the quay adjacent to the lane had been damaged.
The area remained cordoned off for some hours, to allow further examinations to take place in daylight. Northern officers were assisted by staff from CID in investigating this incident.
All three men that were arrested have since been interviewed and are on police bail, pending further enquiries. No-one has been charged at this time.
Sgt Andy Kneen said “we are keen to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time of this incident, and who saw either the initial argument or indeed to subsequent disorder”
