Blackpool airport closure

by isleofman.com 30th September 2014

The Isle of Man could lose one of its links with the north west if a buyer can't be found for Blackpool airport.

The loss-making airport is set to close on October 15 if no agreement can be reached over the next seven days. It has been making a loss for several years and states 'we are currently exploring a number of options in an attempt to secure the future of the airport'.

Three airlines operate out of Blackpool, Jet2.com, Aer Lingus and Citywing which operates daily from the Isle of Man.

Passengers are being advised to contact their airline for more information.
