Ministers prepare for Big Debate launch

by isleofman.com 1st October 2014
Treasury Minister Eddie Teare says government will listen to the views of the Manx public on far-reaching changes about the way it operates and the services it provides.

Mr Teare made the promise ahead of The Big Debate - what's billed as a national conversation on the economy, the welfare state, and the future size and shape of government.

The first in a series of public meetings will be held tomorrow night (2 Oct) at the Centenary Centre in Peel.

Senior ministers Eddie Teare and Chris Robertshaw will outline key proposals before an invited audience, chosen at random, will be asked to give their views using an electronic voting system.

Mr Teare says it's a genuine effort to gather a broad range of opinions:Clip 1
