by isleofman.com 1st October 2014

The Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre will be officially opened this month.

The former training centre in Hill's Meadow has been given a ?1million refit to create a dedicated engineering apprentice facility. The Aerospace Cluster, which has 22 member firms with more than a thousand staff in the Isle of Man, has been instrumental in setting up the centre and helping design and deliver the course.

Chris Allen of the Chamber of Commerce said: 'The opening of the new training facility at Hill’s Meadow is a significant achievement and is widely celebrated among our engineering and manufacturing sector companies on the Isle of Man. It marks the start of an exciting new chapter in the technical training of our youth to prepare them for the world of work within this vibrant industrial sector of the Isle of Man.'
