Farmers welcome rain forecast to revive pastures

The long, dry summer is about to end and while that may be unwelcome for many residents, Island farmers are relieved.
Figures released yesterday show this September was the driest since 1986.
That's ensured a bumper harvest, but there's growing concern in the Manx farming community about grazing conditions on dried-up pastures.
Grass stops growing at this time of year, and without any rainfall what's there now will quickly disappear.
Presenter of Manx Radio's farming programme John Kennaugh says the aim is to keep cattle outside for as long as possible - but for that, healthy grass is vital:Clip 1
