Contingency plans in place if Blackpool airport closes

There’s fresh hope Islanders will still be able to fly to and from Blackpool.
So says the head of Island based ticket seller Citywing which is putting contingency plans in place should the threatened Blackpool Airport close later this month.
Owner Balfour Beatty, which bought the airport in 2008, put it up for sale in August and will shut it unless a buyer is found by next Tuesday.
News editor of Radio Wave in Blackpool, Andy Mitchell, admits it needs substantial investment.
