Collaborative working theme of Ramsey civic service

by isleofman.com 3rd October 2014

Bringing the community together and working towards the town’s renewal was the theme of the Rev Christopher Lowdon’s address at Ramsey Town Commissioners’ civic Sunday service. Businesses, schools, government and individuals all had a role to play in Ramsey’s regeneration, which was ‘more than just infrastructure’ he said.

Preceded by a parade from Ramsey town hall the service, held on Sunday September 28th at St Paul’s Church, included musical interludes by Mrs Marlene Hendy and Mrs Dylis Sowry, and the Bunscoill Rhumsaa folk group led by Mr Mike Boulton.  Lessons were read by Sergeant Andy Kneen of the Northern Neighbourhood Policing Team and Ramsey Grammar School head boy Edward Dunn.

The service was followed by a short reception hosted by Ramsey Town Commissioners’ chairman Captain Malpass in St Paul’s Church Hall where light refreshments were served.
