Striking images including a new gateway to replace the Sea Terminal have been produced as part of what the government is calling a 'bold vision' for the future development of Douglas.
The public is being invited to comment on a Central Douglas Masterplan for the capital. Consultants have created short to medium term goals as well as more ambitious ideas for the long term. Private sector involvement is being encouraged.
Policy and Reform Minister Chris Robertshaw said: 'Government cannot deliver this exciting new strategy on its own. It will be made real by many hands, including private investors and developers. Government has a central role to play in terms of generating the confidence with the private sector to invest in this bold vision.'
A six week consultation programme gets under way with an exhibition at the Strand shopping centre from 2pm on Monday until Saturday October 11. There will be a public presentation at 6pm on Tuesday October 13 at the Manx Museum. People will have until Friday November 14 to make their views know.
