Coastguard warning for low-lying areas

by isleofman.com 7th October 2014
The Island’s coastguards are warning people living in low-lying areas could see up to seven inches of flooding on Wednesday night.
The spring tide, due shortly after midnight in the early hours of Thursday will be higher than expected because of low atmospheric pressure.
The coastguards say there could be between three and seven inches of floodwater in Hope Street and Back Hope Street in Castletown; the Tongue and parts of Lake Road and Leigh Terrace in Douglas and on West Quay in Ramsey.
They say they’ll continue to monitor the situation and further warnings may be issued nearer the time.
