Manx sheep attacked in UK

by isleofman.com 9th October 2014
A conservation organisation in the UK has appealed to dog owners to keep their pets under control – after the second attack on its flock of Loaghtan sheep this year.

One of the 26 Manx sheep at the Ketton Quarry Nature Reserve was found with a seriously infected wound after a dog attack, leaving it just hours from death.

Earlier this year, one of the flock in Rutland in the Midlands was killed following a similar incident.

The Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust says the Loaghtan had most likely been injured some days before it was discovered.

After antibiotic injections, sprays and a trip to the vet, the animal is now said to be recovering well.
