Douglas man due to be sentenced in deception case

by isleofman.com 10th October 2014
A Douglas man who took fourteen and a half thousand pounds (?14,500) from two of his customers is due in court today (Friday).
Sean Speers of Stanley Close has admitted six charges of obtaining money transfers by deception.
The money was taken between November 2012 and October last year as part of a gambling business he ran online and which left his two victims out of pocket.
Earlier this week, Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes moved the case to a Court of General Gaol saying she had insufficient sentencing powers to deal with the matter.
