Youngsters square up for chess challenge

by isleofman.com 10th October 2014
Pupils from 22 Island primary schools will be honing their skills in the ultimate game of strategy this weekend.
Young chess players have been invited to pit their wits against Grand Master Jennifer Shahade who's been at the forefront of the PokerStars International Chess Tournament at the Villa Marina this week.
Chairman of the Isle of Man chess club Howard Dobson says Jennifer's presence should encourage youngsters to continue playing the game - especially girls.
The event starts at 9.30 am at Cronk y Berry School in Douglas this Saturday morning (11 Oct).
