New rules, fewer tragedies: minister

On the day a teenager from Peel admitted causing death by dangerous driving, the Island’s Infrastructure Minister says tighter regulations may prevent such tragedies in future.

18 year old Craig Ryan Bridgewater admitted causing 14 year old Lucia Porter’s death on the Switchback Road in March.

He’ll be sentenced in November – in the meantime the Department of Infrastructure is consulting about new rules that could be imposed on young or inexperienced drivers.
