Hazardous waste plan for Braddan

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne says storing hazardous waste at one central site will stop it being scattered around the Isle of Man – and will save companies money.

This month, he’ll ask Tynwald to approve a ?300,000 plan to build a hazardous waste storage complex next to the incinerator in Braddan.

Mr Gawne says the waste is produced by local manufacturers and contains things like asbestos and heavy metals.

He says having it in one place has several advantages:Clip 1
