Speed dating event to help pupils be workplace savvy

by isleofman.com 11th October 2014
An unusual speed dating event will be held at Ramsey Grammar school on Monday.
Local employers will face quick-fire questions from pupils about their jobs and the skills and knowledge they needed to get them, as they move from table to table.
The event marks the launch of Inspiring the Future, a UK based charity project to forge new partnerships between employers and schools.
It is hoped youngsters will have a much better understanding of the workplace by the time they leave school.
The scheme is supported by the Association of School and College Lecturers whose UK leader is Brian Lightman.
He is urging more local firms to get involved:
There will be more on this in Monday's Mandate programme from 7.30am.Clip 1
