Blackpool replacement still to be found

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne says he’s still hopeful a replacement route can be found for Manx-based Citywing when Blackpool Airport closes this week.

Talks are taking place to find an alternative destination for the company’s flights, with the Lancashire airfield facing closure on Wednesday.

Mr Gawne says his department’s ports division has been closely involved with negotiations.

But are there many destinations in Northwest England, besides Liverpool and Manchester?Clip 1
