MHK says Island is falling behind with languages

Onchan MHK Zac Hall is continuing his campaign to see Island schools focus on teaching '21st century languages'.
He believes French and German are no longer relevant on the global stage in the way Spanish and Mandarin Chinese are.
Mr Hall says Manx children are at risk of being unable to keep up with other countries if changes are not seen: (play audio)
The Department of Education and Children says three of the five Island secondary schools already teach Spanish to some 1,500 children.
It says to simply discontinue the other languages could be detrimental to students.Clip 1
