by isleofman.com 17th October 2014

The Isle of Man Cub Scouts are to be taking park in an all island bag pack tomorrow, Saturday 18th October 2014, at various Shoprite stores.

Given below are the times and places you will be able to meet the Cub Scouts and get help with your shopping:

Douglas, Victoria Road: 1st Malew & 1st Douglas Cushag (10am - 1pm),  1st Douglas Tynwald (1pm - 4pm).
Douglas, Chester St: 5th Douglas (10am - 1pm), 1st Santon, 1st Laxey (1pm - 4pm)
Onchan: 2nd Onchan  Snaefell (10am - 1pm), 2nd Onchan Manannan (1pm - 4pm)

Funds raised will help all the Cubs on the island and will go towards the "Grand Days Out" events that are held three to four times a year.   As the name suggests these are big events for the Cubs and allows them all to get together and the leaders discuss hot topics and ideas.  A recent "Grand Day Out" was held at King William College where the Cubs travelled on the the Cubwort Express and arrived at Cubworts to take part in wand-making, quidditch, soup exams and snitch shooting.

Previous "Grand Day Outs" such as Jambo-way from St Johns to Peel and back again ready for a Football Competition and their first one was ten pin bowling, swimming, games with a party afterwards.

Currently the cubs are charged ?5 each but as the "Grand Days Out" get grander and even more popular there are hopes to subsidise these in events in the future.

Organising is underway now for the next Grand Day Out which is to be held in February 2015.
