Police investigation following assault

Police are currently investigating as assault which took place in the early hours of Sunday 19th October 2014 between the times 12.30 am and 2.30 am in the area of Barrack Street, Douglas.  During which the victim sustained facial injuries which required hospital treatment but has since been discharged and is recovering. At the time of the assault a large number of people were present in the area and may have witnessed the assault.
 
On Monday 21st October 2014 a 21 year old male was arrested in connection with the assault and was charged to attend Court on the 18th November 2014.
 
PC 304 Lana Gardner states ‘Despite that we have arrested and charged a male in connection with this assault we are still progressing the investigation and we are still seeking the co-operation of members of the public who may have witnessed this incident, the victim has been released from Hospital and is currently recovering from his injuries’
 
Police are appealing for anyone who has witnessed the incident or has any other information to contact PC 304 Gardner at Lord Street Police Station or alternatively the Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
