Spate of burglaries investigated by police

by isleofman.com 23rd October 2014
A spate of burglaries since the beginning of July, mainly in Douglas, is being investigated by police.
Officers say it appears those responsible are targeting homes which have been left unlocked during the day and taking small electrical items such as i-pods, laptops and i-phones along with any cash found lying around or in money boxes.
CID are working with uniformed officers to find the offenders and prevent further incidents happening.
DS Michelle McKillop says the main targets for the burglars seem to be homes in Douglas, but there have also been two reports in the south, too.
She says it's unclear if the incidents in the two locations are connected.
Police have launched a public appeal for information, and is urging people to report anything suspicious in their area.
They're also calling for people to make sure they secure their homes when they go out, and say they should be particularly security conscious in the run-up to the Christmas period.
