Window wonderlands wanted for Best Dressed Business competition

by isleofman.com 27th October 2014

Retailers in Douglas town centre are being urged to dress their windows to impress ahead of the Christmas lights ceremony on Thursday November 20th and enter the Best Dressed Business competition, organised by Douglas Development Partnership.

Town centre manager Michelle O’Malley said: ‘We’re looking for some cracking Christmas creativity; window wonderlands with dazzling decorations that will delight shoppers and also offer Douglas traders the chance to win two truly fantastic prizes.’

In the independent retailer category, sponsored by Gallery magazine and Manx Radio, there’s the opportunity to win a full-page advertising space in Gallery plus a year’s free advertising with Manx Radio, while in the chain store category the winner will win a donation to the charity of their choice, sponsored by Douglas Development Partnership.

Ms O’Malley continued: ‘Businesses have until November 20th to go beyond tinsel and trees and really pull out every festive stop, after which we’ll be taking then uploading a photo of every entry onto our Facebook page and inviting the public to vote for their favourite.

‘This is the one time of the year to let refined good taste fly out of the shop window and stop shoppers in their tracks with full-on festive fabulousness.’

Voting closes 5pm Friday December 12th.
