Charity boss sympathises with minister

The president of a group of cancer charities says he understands the government doesn’t have the cash to pay for drugs that haven’t been given NHS approval.

Yesterday in the House of Keys, Health Minister Howard Quayle faced questions about the fund – and said he could find more useful ways to spend the money.

Malcolm Clague, president of the Isle of Man Anti-Cancer Association, says the group met with the department about setting up such a fund – which already exists in the UK.

But he says he can sympathise with the minister’s position:Clip 1
