With Christmas is on its way, Manx Blind Welfare Society is here to help with delightful festive cards and a brand new calendar for 2015.
There are two card designs available, with packs of 10 cards costing just ?5. The pictures on the cards were captured by local photographers Mary Davies and Paul Marriot, who kindly donated their work to help the Society raise money.
If you are looking for a great gift idea, then the 2015 MBWS calendar is perfect. It features stunning photos of the Isle of Man donated by leading local photographers, each reflecting the theme “Seeing the Island Differently”.
The calendar costs just ?5 and, like the Christmas cards, can be purchased from Corrin Court in Onchan. They are also available from Patricia Wild Opticians in Ramsey, Newby & Padley in Onchan, Laxey Opticians, Holmes & Davidson and Gillian Sheard Opticians in Douglas, as well as Village Walk Health Centre in Onchan and the Laxey Health Centre.
Both the calendar and the cards have kindly been supported by local businesses, ensuring all the proceeds go to the charity. Money raised from sales will help Manx Blind Welfare Society to continue offering vital services to blind and visually impaired people in the Isle of Man. There are more than 600 people with serious sight loss in the Island being supported by the Society, which offers wide range of services for free.
Manx Blind Welfare Society Volunteers Coordinator & Events Organiser Debbie Thomson said: ‘We are really delighted with our Christmas cards, which have already proved very popular, and would like to thank Mary and Paul for their ongoing support.
‘We’ve also been overwhelmed by the response to our 2015 calendar. It includes some unusual views of the Island, and familiar scenes shown in a different way. We think it is a great idea for a Christmas gift, but, importantly, it is also a way for people to support our work with blind and visually impaired people in the Island.
‘I’d like to thank all the local businesses who have sponsored production of the cards and calendars, ensuring all proceeds go directly towards delivering our services.’
Christmas cards and the 2015 calendar can be purchased from Corrin Court in Onchan. For further information email enquiries@mbws.org.im or call 674727.
