by isleofman.com 30th October 2014
All Saints Church in Lonan has been forced to close indefinitely, after its electrical systems were found to be dangerously unsafe.
A survey found its electricity supply was a potential risk to life and a possible fire hazard – leading to the supply being shut off.
There are also other problems, such as the central aisle.
It has a woodworm, and has also been deemed unsafe.
The cost for repairs is thought to be in the region of ?25,000.
The Parochial Church Council says all services will be moved to Christ Church in Laxey.
