Police called to a disturbance at a house in Douglas in the early hours of today (Saturday) gave first aid to a man with stab wounds.
Detective Sergeant Michelle McKillop said the victim had serious but not life threatening injuries, adding:'This outcome is predominantly as a result of the immediate first aid he received prior to the arrival of paramedics.'
A man was arrested near the property in Hilltop Rise and the house remains under police guard.
Sgt McKillop said: 'We will be at the address for several hours today whilst our forensic officers examine the scene. We will be calling on houses nearby as part of our inquiries. I'd like to take the opportunity to reassure the public that there is no ongoing risk to them.'
