by isleofman.com 5th November 2014
A blueprint to grow Manx food and drink production by ?50 million over the next 10 years has been launched by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
The strategy will go before Tynwald for approval this month.
The aim is to have government and the private sector working together to grow the local produce market at home and abroad.
In January, before becoming DEFA minister, Richard Ronan stated he wanted to see the sector expand to 7% of GDP.
He admits since taking charge of the department he has realised 3.5% is a more realistic target initially:Clip 1
