No major incidents during bonfire night - but two call outs

by isleofman.com 6th November 2014
Fire services on the Island say bonfire night passed off without any major incidents - though they did attend two call outs.
The first came at around 7.30pm when it was reported that a garden shed was on fire at a house in Bircham Avenue, Ramsey.
The blaze was made more ferocious as a quantity of petrol had been stored in the shed. Fire crews stayed on the scene to dampen down after the blaze was extinguished.
The second incident was in the early hours of this morning when it was reported a fire was out of control at Stoney Mountain Quarry . . Foxdale. An appliance from Douglas attended, but it was decided the fire was unlikely to spread further and it after speaking to the land owner the blaze was left to die out under his supervision.
Fire Services have thanked the Manx public for helping make bonfire night a safe one.
