Food labelling

by isleofman.com 7th November 2014
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says consumers will be better informed and businesses better able to export if new laws are approved this month.
Minister Richard Ronan will ask Tynwald to approve EU legislation governing food labelling under the EU Food Information Order this month.
The changes would mean labelling would need to be legible, contain nutritional information and state the origin of meat and poultry as well as warning about allergens such as nuts or milk.
Hotels, restaurants and cafes would all need to display the information on menus.
