?1.5 million upgrade of crematorium

by isleofman.com 10th November 2014
Work to upgrade Douglas Borough Crematorium and its chapel begins this morning (Monday).
The ?1.5 million project is expected to take around a year to complete.
Central to the scheme will be the refurbishment of the chapel to provide separation between arriving and departing mourners.
There will also be improved disabled access, a new waiting area and toilets.
Although cremations will continue to be offered during the period, the borough cemetery chapel will be closed, although St Andrew’s Church on Glencrutchery Road can accommodate both religious and secular services.
Councillor Stephen Pitts says the work is long overdue.Clip 1
