Steam Packet captain died from hanging, inquest hears

A captain with the Isle of Man Steam Packet died from hanging, an inquest has heard.
The inquiry into the death of 44-year-old Stephen Michael Spenser was opened and adjourned at Douglas courthouse this morning.
It heard his body was found at his home in Governor's Hill, Douglas, on the night of October 30.
There was a rope around his neck.
Coroner of Inquests John Needham adjourned proceedings to a date to be fixed, and passed his sincere condolences on to Mr Spenser's family, who were not in attendance today.
