Concerns over Liverpool ferry landing stage

by isleofman.com 11th November 2014
The Island's passenger watchdog TravelWatch is calling for action from government to secure the future of the ferry landing stage at Liverpool's Pier Head.
According to the group the structure, built in 1977, will need to be replaced by 2017 to ensure reliable ferry services to and from Liverpool.
The original stage was financed by the Manx government, with the Packet repaying over 25 years.
Funding its replacement at an estimated cost of ?15 million is more complex, as it is now also used by Liverpool's cruise liner terminal.
TravelWatch spokesman for sea travel Dick Clague says it's becoming a pressing issue: Clip 1
