British Airways announce extra London flights

British Airways is increasing flights from the Isle of Man to London City in time for Christmas shopping and the New Year sales.

From the beginning of December British Airways is putting on three additional flights a week, increasing to four return flights a day on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The extra flights will operate up to Christmas and resume again in January until the end of March.

Luke Hayhoe, British Airways general manager commercial, said: “We have listened to customers from both the leisure and business communities on the Island who want more flexibility and choice on weekdays. We are delighted to add these extra weekly flights right to the heart of London.

“It will give our leisure customers more choice for shopping, sightseeing or visiting friends and relatives before and after Christmas and our business customers more flexibility during this busy period.”

The extra flights will depart from the Isle of Man at 10.30am, arriving at 11.40am with the return flight from London at 12.10pm, arriving at 1.20pm.

Benefits of flying to and from London City include easy access to Canary Wharf and the City of London and with excellent low cost transport links on the DLR and London Underground customers can also reach central London in less than 30 minutes.

Check in at London City Airport closes just 15 minutes before departure for customers with hand baggage and 20 minutes with checked in luggage.

One way hand baggage only fares from the Isle of Man to London City are available to book now from ?75 on www.ba.com.

Fares include free on-line check in and seat selection up to 24 hours before departure, two pieces of hand luggage, complimentary food and drinks on board, including a hot breakfast on morning flights, and no debit card fees.
